Today was a wonderful Monday! Everyone seemed well rested and ready for the week 😊

What is your child learning this week?

Math: We finished up graphing on Friday and we are now moving on to place value. The students took a pretest today and afterwards, they did an introductory practice using manipulatives for making numbers using tens and ones. They did great!

Science/Social Studies: We continued with seasons in Science today, and we are finishing up tomorrow. The students will visit the science lab on Thursday to continue learning about weather. They LOVE the science lab! 💗 In the classroom, we will be moving on to Social Studies on Wednesday, beginning the unit with "Me on the Map." For this unit, the students will need to know their address, so please write their address in their agenda for them to have for this week's activities. Thank you!

Language Arts/Daily 5/Phonics:  The students did a great job with their spelling test on Friday with the L blends. This week in phonics, we are learning the R-blends. In Daily 5, I am happy to say that we have reached 15 minutes of Read to Self stamina today! Only 5 minutes until we reach the ultimate goal of 20 minutes! So proud! The students have been introduced to Read to Someone where they sit and read to a partner. We will be working on this more this week.

Reminders:
-Homework folders were sent home in the purple homework folders today. Please have your child complete the activities and bring the folder back to school with them on Friday.
