What is your child learning this week?

Math: We are practicing word problems, graphing, and starting our addition math facts fluency tests.

Phonics: The phonics focus for the week is open vowels.
Spelling words this week:  go, so, no, me, he, we, another, away, boy, end

ELA/Daily 5:  In ELA, we are practicing retelling a couple Halloween stories. In Daily 5, we are continuing with Daily 5 rotations (Read to Self, Read to Someone, Word Work, Work on Writing, and Listen to Reading).

Writing: We will be practicing researching for informational writing.

Science/Social Studies: We are continuing to learn about Benjamin Franklin.

ELA/Daily 5:  In ELA, we are practicing retelling stories. In Daily 5, we are continuing with Daily 5 rotations (Read to Self, Read to Someone, Word Work, Work on Writing, and Listen to Reading).

Writing: We will be practicing writing Halloween stories.

Science/Social Studies: We will be going to the Science Lab this week!

This week is Red Ribbon Week. To help show support, students will have the opportunity to do the following things:
Monday: Sign a class pledge to be drug free
Tuesday: Wear a hat to school!
Wednesday: Wear red!
Thursday: Wear mismatched clothes!
Friday: Wear Addison shirt

Parents we need your help! Please consider signing up to volunteer during Boovie Night Friday October 25th to help us make this event a success. Middle school and high school students in need of service hours are welcome to sign up too! Thank you for your support!

Math: We are practicing word problems as well as adding and subtracting within 10.

Phonics: The phonics focus for the week is long o.
Spelling words this week:  smoke, stole, home, hope, rope, stove, she, the, these, two

ELA/Daily 5:  In Daily 5, we are continuing with Daily 5 rotations (Read to Self, Read to Someone, Word Work, Work on Writing, and Listen to Reading).

Writing: We will be practicing correcting sentences.

- Conference week is this week. It will be Early Release all week. I look forward to seeing all of you there!
- The book fair will be open this week! The fair will be open from 7:15-4:00 pm on Monday, 10/14, Tuesday 10/15, and Thursday 10/17. On Wednesday 10/17, the fair will be open from 7:15 am-5:00 pm. On Friday 10/19, it will be open from 7:15 am to noon.

ELA/Daily 5: In ELA, we are continuing wordless stories and retelling stories. In Daily 5, we are continuing with Daily 5 rotations (Read to Self, Read to Someone, Word Work, Work on Writing, and Listen to Reading).

Writing: We will be focusing on how to write narratives.

Science/Social Studies: In Science, we are going to Science Lab! In Social Studies, we will be learning about scarcity.
