I hope everyone had an awesome break and HAPPY FALL!! I love this time of year, I'm just hoping the weather cools down soon! We shared what we did over the break today and it sounds like everyone had a great time.

What is your child learning this week?

ELA/Daily 5: In ELA, we are starting wordless stories. These are books without words! We are "reading" these stories, or rather looking at the pictures and practicing retelling the stories. This helps students see the importance of looking at pictures as well as words. That way, if they can't read the words, they can still use the pictures to help them understand what is happening in the story. In Daily 5, we are continuing with Daily 5 rotations (Read to Self, Read to Someone, Word Work, Work on Writing, and Listen to Reading).

Writing: We will be focusing on how to write narratives.

Science/Social Studies: In Science, we are talking about magnets! We have STEM day on Friday and the students will create a magnetic path with a start to finish that a magnet can be pulled through.
