I hope everyone had an awesome 3 day weekend!

What is your child learning this week?

Math: We are continuing with place value, and we will have a place value test on Friday. Today we practiced making groups of ten with partners. I gave them a handful of ones and told them to make groups of ten and put a circle around the group. That way they look like they're on an island. Then I had them tell me how many groups of tens or how many "islands" they had made, and how many ones unfortunately didn't make it on an island with a group of ten. They shared with the class how they created the groups, how many tens and ones they had, and what number they made with the tens and ones. They did such an awesome job! 😊

Social Studies: We are finishing up Me on the Map. Tomorrow we will finish our flip book, and Monday we will have our test. Students should know their address, city, county, state, country, continent, and planet!

Language Arts/Daily 5/Phonics: The phonics focus this week is Final S-family blends. We are continuing to practice Daily 5 rotations with Read to Self, Read to Someone, Listen to Reading, and Word Work.

One of our wonderful classmates asked to read to the class today and she did great! 😊
