What is your child learning this week?

Math: We are continuing working on counting to 120. We are also using number lines to practice counting. Morning work this week includes word problems within 10.

Science/Social Studies: We are continuing continents and oceans. The students LOVE "The Seven Continents Song" and I apologize in advance if they have been singing it at home. 😄 We will have our continents and oceans test on Friday.

ELA/Daily 5/Writing: The phonics focus for this week is final blends. In Language Arts, we are continuing with nonfiction and fiction. We are also starting "Wordless Stories." We will be looking at books without words and focusing on the illustrations. The students will be retelling these stories just based on looking at these illustrations. Feel free to practice with your children at home if you have any wordless stories! For writing, we will be focusing on writing narratives. The students will be learning how to use transition words (first, next, then, last) when writing their stories.
