Mrs. Drolet's First Grade Explorers!

Today we started our focus on nonfiction and fiction books. The students chose books from my classroom library and did a turn and talk with their partner. They looked through their books to figure out if it is a nonfiction or fiction book, and discussed this with their partner. Then they had the opportunity to share with the class. We are off to a great start!

We did Daily 5 today and the students are becoming very familiar with the rules and procedures of Daily 5. The students were in groups for Read to Self, Read to Someone, Word Work, Work on Writing, and Listen to Reading. They will be rotating through these stations the rest of the week.
